McCaffery, Deebo, and Trent Williams Headline 49er's Injury Report

San Francisco enters this game after their first loss of the season at the hands of the Cleveland Browns. The first loss of the season turned out to be the least problematic loss that the 49ers suffered. Multiple players sustained injuries, notably their two offensive stars, Deebo Samuel and Christian McCaffery. Without the two, the Niner offense struggled mightily against the stout Cleveland defense. Coming into this week vs Minnesota, the injury list continues with even more key names.

Starting with the one known inactive player, Wide Receiver Deebo Samuel is out for multiple weeks with a shoulder injury, per Head Coach Kyle Shannahan. A tremendous loss as Deebo is a catalyst for this 49ers team and is heavily involved in what they do. Expect fellow WR Brandon Aiyuk to get an extensive role as a result, as well as Tight End George Kittle.

Trent Williams is still dealing with an ankle injury he suffered two weeks ago but managed to play through last week. Williams has been listed as doubtful for tomorrow's matchup. Trent Williams is among the best players in his position and the entire NFL. Spectators everywhere will notice his absence this week as he is monumental in the passing and running games. Third-year player Jaylon Moore is expected to get the start in William's absence.

Finally, the two questionable players are star Running Back Christian McCaffery and Line Backer Dre Greenlaw. McCaffery left last week with an oblique injury and is a game-time decision for tomorrow afternoon.

McCaffery is debatably the best back in football, and his impact is irreplaceable. Elijah Mitchell and Jordan Mason should get the bulk of the carries this week: two talented backs who can be a solid replacement if CMC can't go.

On the other hand, Dre Greenlaw is also very gifted and one of the premier players in his position. Dee Winters is listed behind him on the depth chart if he is a no-go. San Francisco's defense is elite, and even without his impact it should still hold up reasonably well.

We will get more information as we get closer to game time tomorrow. As things stand, San Francisco will be without their more prevalent players on offense. The phrase "next man up" will be valid for the 49ers tomorrow, as they will rely on others at crucial positions.
