Jets Offense Fails Again - Gets Dismantled by Dolphins 30-0

The latest installment of the Jets' miserable season was an inter-division game against the Miami Dolphins, which saw them take an embarrassing defeat of 30-0. New York's offense has been worse than anyone would have thought this year and on Sunday, it felt like a new low.

Zach Wilson started this game for the Jets but did not finish after suffering from concussion-like symptoms. Wilson was 4/11 for 26 yards and was sacked four times before leaving the game. Things were not working in his favor before he left, and backup Trevor Siemian faced much of the same. Siemian went 14/26 with 110 yards and two interceptions to Brandon Jones. Nothing, including rushing, went right for New York's offense at any game phase. Miami held the Jets to only 23 yards on 12 carries as a team and lead back Breece Hall to 12 yards on six carries. Miami shut down all angles of the Jets's offense and rendered them sitting ducks on the football field.

Tua Tagovailoa and company took advantage of a Jets defense constantly getting thrown back out on the field and made efficient work out of the defense. Tagovailoa completed 21/24 passes for 224 yards and a touchdown to Jaylen Waddle, who had a great day. Waddle had eight catches and 142 yards to accompany his touchdown, accounting for most of Tua's passing yards on the day. Running Back Raheem Mostert added two more rushing touchdowns to his season total, boosting him to 18. Mostert's 18 touchdowns this year are more than every other year of his career combined, as he has 32 in total. A surprise X-factor in Mike McDaniel's elaborate rushing scheme, Mostert has been phenomenal this year and that continued against the Jets.

Of course, such an embarrassing display from the Jets offense has to be credited to the Dolphin's defense. Miami's front seven registered six sacks and 14 QB hits on the day. Consistently getting pressure on whoever was in at Quarterback. Miami's defense, led by former first-round pick Bradley Chubb, swarmed the pocket. Chubb accounted for three sacks of the seven, with seven tackles and a fumble recovery. Safety Brandon Jones picked off Trevor Siemian twice to add to the turnover total. Miami's defense took advantage of an abysmal offense and went to town.

Moving forward, New York has Aaron Rodgers as the light in the tunnel moving into next year if he chooses not to retire. On the other hand, Miami has real playoff implications this season as they are atop the AFC East and fighting for atop the AFC. With performances like this, Miami has to answer whether they can consistently play this well against both lousy teams and the upper-echelon teams in the NFL.
