Week 3: Keys to a Vikings Win
Minnesota will look to get back in the ‘win’ column when they host the Detroit Lions on Sunday. The first key for the Vikings to get a win is stopping the run. The Lions have been very good at running the ball so far this year and have a favorable matchup against the Vikings, who have struggled stopping the run over the last few years. We need the defensive line to step up and get some pressure. If they can force Jared Goff to throw the ball then he will make a few mistakes.
Another key is getting the run game and other receivers going on offense. The Vikings need to run the ball better with one of the best running back duos in the league this year. Cook hasn’t been involved much and the run game will only up the passing game even more. Getting the ball to Thielen, Osborn, and even Cook in the passing game will help with the double teams on Jefferson.
If the Vikings beat the Lions they will improve to 2-0 in the division and will really put themselves in a good spot for the rest of the season. This game will also be a good test for the coaching staff, to see how they can get their team to bounce back after a tough loss in Philly.
